Your first 30 minutes
The first time you sign in, Querri skips the empty screen and asks what you want to know. This page walks you through that from start to finish: your workspace, your first questions, your data, and your first answer.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- A new Querri account. Onboarding opens by itself the first time you sign in.
- A file (.csv, .xlsx, .json or .parquet), or the login for a tool you use. Without either, you can still finish, because step 4 has other ways forward.
- If you’re joining an organization someone already set up, you skip the setup screens and start at step 3.
1. Set up your workspace
Section titled “1. Set up your workspace”The first person in a new organization sees two setup screens.
“How will you work?” Choose With a team or Just me.
- With a team creates a workspace shared with everyone you invite, plus a private workspace that’s only yours. Give your company a name, then click Create workspace.
- Just me creates only a private workspace. You can add more later in Settings. Click Let’s go.
“Let’s get the introductions right.” Querri fills in a sentence about you from what it already knows. Click any highlighted word to fix it, then click That’s me.
- With a team and Just me: who the workspace is for.
- Company name: what your workspace is called.
- Create workspace: go on to the next screen.
2. Make it yours
Section titled “2. Make it yours”With a team, you may see “Let’s make it your own” next. Enter your Company website and click Make it mine. Querri drafts a theme from your website while you carry on. If you’d rather not, click I’ll come back to this in Settings later. You can change the look any time in Appearance.
3. Tell Querri what matters
Section titled “3. Tell Querri what matters”“Welcome to your library!” explains that your Library is organized around your business questions. Click Get started.
Three screens follow: “What keeps you up at night?”, “And something else?” and “One more to round it out”. On each one:
- Type a topic in a few words, like “late shipments” or “slow-paying customers”, and send it.
- The Librarian suggests questions about it. Click the ones you want to keep. If you typed a whole question, it’s marked Your question.
- Click Continue. The button reads Building… while Querri saves your picks.
Once you’ve answered one, the next screens also offer Skip more questions and connect data now.
- The topic box: a few words about what you want to know.
- A suggested question: click to keep it.
- Continue: save your picks and go on.
What Querri builds from your answers
Section titled “What Querri builds from your answers”Before you’ve connected any data, your Library already has:
- a collection, named after your questions
- an anchor question, the main question the collection answers, with your other picks as refining questions
- up to three KPIs, marked ASPIRATIONAL because there’s no data to measure them yet
It doesn’t create facts or views at this point. Those come later, as you add data and work with the Librarian.
4. Bring your data in
Section titled “4. Bring your data in”“Let’s bring your data in.” shows the tools you can connect. Pick one and follow its steps, or upload a file: use the upload tile, or just drag the file anywhere on the page.
Not ready? Under “Not ready to connect your data?” you have three other ways forward:
- Ask someone on your team to connect it: enter their email address and click Send invite. They get a link straight to this screen.
- Get help from a Querri data expert: say what you’re trying to answer and click Send. The expert replies to the email address you signed up with.
- Explore with sample data: load Curio, a made-up company, instead. See Explore the sample company.
I’ll add data later, at the bottom, takes you straight to your Library.
- The connector tiles: connect a tool, or upload a file.
- Ask someone on your team to connect it.
- Get help from a Querri data expert.
- Explore with sample data.
- I’ll add data later.
5. See what was set up
Section titled “5. See what was set up”Once your data is in, “Here’s what we set up” counts your topics, questions, data sources, columns and relationships, and says how many of your questions it connected to the data. Click Go to my Library.
If nothing is connected yet, the screen reads “Your questions are saved” instead. Connect data takes you back to step 4, and Go to my Library goes in anyway.
6. Ask your first question
Section titled “6. Ask your first question”You land in the Library: in the shared workspace if you chose With a team, or in your private one if you chose Just me.
If you connected data, a question about your top KPI is already waiting in the chat box. Send it as it is, or type your own.
The answer comes back as a table, and Show the query shows the SQL behind it. Reading an answer covers the rest, and each message you send the Librarian uses a credit.
Check your work
Section titled “Check your work”Open Library on the rail and look at the tabs:
- Collections: the collection built from your questions.
- Questions: your anchor question and the questions that refine it.
- Metrics: where your KPIs are listed, still ASPIRATIONAL until they’re measured from your data.
Knowledge tabs explains what each tab shows.
Next steps
Section titled “Next steps”- Explore the sample company: try everything on Curio’s data.
- Start with questions, not tables: why your Library starts from questions.
- KPIs: what makes a KPI aspirational, and how it gets a value.
- What changed in the new Querri: for anyone who used Querri before.
